How Do I Know I Was Wrongfully Terminated From My Job?

- Violating written or implied promises: Employers must follow all employee contracts, including employment timeframes outlined in a contract as well as company policies when it comes to disciplinary procedures.
- Violating public policy: A person cannot be fired for taking time off the vote, for jury duty, or to serve in the military or National Guard. In addition, a person cannot be fired for taking time off for reasons covered in the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or the California Family Rights Act (FRA).
